Screenshot Modes
Master area capture, window capture, and scrolling capture in Snappix.
Snappix offers three powerful capture modes to handle any screenshot scenario.
Area Capture
The most flexible capture mode. Select any rectangular region on your screen.
How to use:
- Press
⌘ + Shift + 4(or your custom hotkey) - Click and drag to select the area you want to capture
- Release to capture — the editor opens automatically
Tips:
- Hold
Spacewhile dragging to move the selection area - The pixel coordinates are displayed in real-time for precision
- Press
Escto cancel the capture
Window Capture
Capture an entire application window with a single click.
How to use:
- Press
⌘ + Shift + 5(or your custom hotkey) - Hover over the window you want to capture — it will highlight
- Click to capture the highlighted window
Tips:
- Window capture automatically includes the window shadow
- Works with any visible window, including background windows
- Perfect for capturing clean app screenshots for documentation
Scrolling Capture
Capture content that extends beyond the visible screen — long web pages, documents, and code files.
How to use:
- Press
⌘ + Shift + 6(or your custom hotkey) - Select the scrollable area
- Snappix automatically scrolls and stitches the content together
How it works:
- Intelligent overlap detection ensures seamless stitching
- Optimized for web pages, PDFs, and code editors
- Handles dynamic content and fixed headers gracefully
Best for:
- Full web page captures
- Long documents and spreadsheets
- Entire chat conversations

Capture Settings
You can customize capture behavior in Snappix Preferences:
