Getting Started

Install Snappix and take your first screenshot in under 2 minutes.

System Requirements

  • macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
  • Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) or Intel Mac
  • ~50 MB disk space

Installation

Download from Website

  1. Visit snappix.app/download
  2. Download the .dmg file
  3. Open the DMG and drag Snappix to your Applications folder
  4. Launch Snappix from Applications or Spotlight

Permissions Setup

On first launch, Snappix will guide you through the required system permissions:

  1. Screen Recording — Required for capturing screenshots
  2. Accessibility — Required for window detection and hotkey support

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and enable both permissions for Snappix. You may need to restart the app after granting permissions.

Your First Screenshot

1. Take a Screenshot

Press the default hotkey or click the Snappix menu bar icon:

Scrolling Capture⌘ + Shift + 6

2. Annotate

After capturing, the Snappix editor opens automatically. You can:

  • Add text — Click the text tool and type
  • Draw shapes — Rectangles, circles, arrows, and lines
  • Blur areas — Select the blur tool and drag over sensitive content
  • Number steps — Add numbered markers for tutorials

3. Beautify

Switch to the Theme panel to instantly transform your screenshot:

  • Choose a preset theme or create your own
  • Add gradient backdrops with custom colors
  • Apply rounded corners and shadows
  • Add device mockups (MacBook, iPhone, etc.)

4. Export

Click Export or press ⌘ + E to save your screenshot:

  • PNG — Lossless quality, best for UI screenshots
  • JPEG — Smaller file size, adjustable quality
  • Copy to clipboard — Paste directly into any app
